Dr. Wontae Neal is a seasoned education consultant with over a decade of experience focused on African American faculty retention, transfer student success, and career development. He currently serves as the Program Manager for Pre-Transfer Advising at the University of Maryland, where he supports students in navigating their educational pathways with clarity and purpose. 

Dr. Neal began his career in K–12 education, teaching Math, Science, and Communication Studies in diverse school systems across Baltimore, MD; Tampa, FL; and Petersburg, VA. He later transitioned to higher education, serving as a Communications Instructor at The Community College of Baltimore County. His combined experiences in K–12 and higher education have equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of student development and institutional success strategies.

He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Liberty University, a Master’s in Media Management from Virginia State University, and a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications, also from Virginia State University. 

With a commitment to equity and student achievement, Dr. Neal continues to advocate for transformative practices that support underrepresented student populations and create inclusive academic environments.
