Pre-Transfer Advising offers weekly information sessions and virtual chat hours. Information sessions cover a general overview of resources for transfer students, provide information about transfer credits, and review majors and programs. Students may also opt to use virtual chat hours to ask questions one-on-one with an advisor. Both types of sessions are only for prospective transfer students. The calendar below lists Pre-Transfer Advising events as well as other events offered by UMD departments that may be of interest to prospective transfer students. Review the calendar for event descriptions and how to request an invitation. Questions and requests for appointments can be submitted to sure to add this email to your address book and check your spam folder if you do not receive a timely response.)


Individual advising is offered for all prospective students virtually through Zoom, over the phone, and via email. Students attending Anne Arundel Community College (AACC), Howard Community College (HCC), Montgomery College (MC), and Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) should view the Advising page to connect with a Pre-Transfer Advisor specifically for students attending those institutions. Students from any other institution may attend an information session, virtual chat hours, or receive individual advising.
